Coalition confusion: Germany’s national election
Germany’s election ended with the centre-left Social Democrats (SPD), led by Olaf Scholz, winning 25.7% of the vote, nearly two percentage points ahead of the centre-right Christian Democratic Union of the outgoing chancellor, Angela Merkel, now led by Armin Laschet, and its ally the CSU.
Leaders of both the CDU and the SPD claimed a mandate to begin talks with the Greens (14.8% of the vote) and the pro-business Free Democrats (11.5%). Mr Laschet might lead a “Jamaica” coalition or Mr Scholz a “traffic-light” one (the names derive from the parties’ colours, and Jamaica’s flag). Both would enjoy clear majorities. A left-wing coalition that would unite the SPD, Greens and the hard-left Die Linke does not seem on the cards. Preliminary results show it would fall just short of a majority.

德国大选由奥拉夫·肖尔茨（Olaf Scholz）为首的中左翼社会民主党（简称社民党，SPD）赢得25.7%的选票而胜出，比即将卸任的总理安吉拉·默克尔（Angela Merkel）所在中右翼基督教民主联盟（简称基民盟，Christian Democratic Union）（现在由阿明·拉舍特（Armin Laschet）领导）及其盟友基督教社会联盟（简称基社盟，CSU）领先近两个百分点。

德国各党第二票（政党票）得票率，统计时间截至当地时间9月27日5时29分（北京时间11时29分）。各党从左至右为基民盟、社民党、选择党、自民党、左翼党、绿党、基社盟和其他，各党左侧深色条为今年大选得票率，右侧浅色条为大选得票率。基民盟和基社盟共同组成联盟党，因此得票率通常合并计算。

基民盟（CDU）和社民党（SPD）的领导人都要求与绿党（占14.8%的选票）和亲商业的自由民主党（11.5%）开始谈判。拉舍特可能会领导一个“牙买加”组合，肖尔茨可能会领导一个“交通灯”组合（名字来源于政党的颜色及牙买加的国旗）。两者都享有明显的优势。一个将社民党、绿党和极左翼政党联合起来的左翼联盟似乎不太可能。初步结果显示，它的选票份额不占主流。

拉舍特可能组建一个由联盟党、绿党、自民党组建的执政联盟。这三个政党的代表色分别为黑、绿、黄，正好是牙买加国旗的三种颜色，因此被外界称为“牙买加组合”。
肖尔茨可能会选择社民党和绿党、自民党联合组建政府。因这三个政党代表色分别为红、绿、黄，因此这个组合被称为“红绿灯/交通灯组合”。
根据德国选举规定，新政府组成后，再由联邦议院选举产生新一任总理。由于目前组阁存在较大未知数，到底谁将成为默克尔接班人仍存在不确定性。
