今日份预告：given，review，category及全部倒装大结局
Given:
adj.
1. any/a given ... any particular time, situation, amount, etc that is being used as an example 指定的，特定的
e.g. On any given day in the Houston area, half the hospital beds are empty.
在休斯敦地区，任何一天医院的床位都有一半是空的。
at any given time/momente.g. There are thought to be around 10,000 young homeless Scots in London at any given time.
据信伦敦无论何时都有一万左右的苏格兰青年无家可归
2. previously arranged 事先安排好的；规定的
e.g. The wrapping machine was pre-set to wrap a given number of biscuits.
包装机预设好可以包装一定数量的饼干。
3. take something as given to accept that something is true or exists, especially when you are developing an idea or argument 认为某事理所当然如此，认为某事是想当然〔尤用于得出观点〕
e.g. The fact that people find change difficult is taken as given.
人总觉得改变什么很难，这是毫无疑问的。
(“认为某事理所当然”还有另外一种表达：take sth for granted
1. take it for granted (that) to believe that something is true without making sure 想当然地认为，认为…是理所当然
e.g. He just took it for granted that he would pass the exam.
他还想当然地认为自己能通过考试呢。
2. take somebody/something for granted to expect that someone or something will always be there when you need them and never think how important or useful they are 视某人/某事为理所当然〔而对其不重视〕
e.g. Bridget was careful not to take him for granted.
布里奇特很小心，不把他所做的一切看成是理应如此。)
prep.
taking something into account 考虑到，鉴于e.g. Given the circumstances, you’ve done really well.
鉴于这种情况，你已经算是处理得很好了。
given thate.g. Given that the patients have some disabilities, we still try to enable them to be as independent as possible.
虽然考虑到病人有生理上的不便，我们还是尽量让他们自立。
Review:
n.
1. a careful examination of a situation or process 审查，检查，检讨
review ofe.g. She sent us her review of the research.
她把她对这个研究所作的审查结果送交给我们。
carry out/conduct/undertake a reviewe.g. The company hired Bob to conduct an independent review of their workplace procedures.
公司聘请鲍勃对他们的工作规程进行独立审查。
review body/committee/panel/boarde.g. the Teachers’ Pay Review Body

under reviewe.g. We’re keeping this policy under review (=we are continuing to examine it).

2. an article in a newspaper or magazine that gives an opinion about a new book, play, film, etc. 〔报纸或杂志上的〕评论（文章）；书评；剧评；影评
e.g. a film review

e.g. The paper published a review of her book.

good/bad/mixed reviewe.g. The band’s new album has had very good reviews.

3. the work of writing reviews for a newspaper or magazine 评论

Category:
a group of people or things that are all of the same types 类别，种类，范畴
category ofe.g. There are five categories of workers.
工人有5类。
fall into/belong in/fit into a categorye.g. Voters fall into three main categories.
选民分为三大类。
今天的单词部分讲解结束，接下来就是我们最近在讲的系列倒装句的大结局。
最后要提到的就是全部倒装的第三四种情况：such位于句首及表语置于句首。
1.such位于句首
Such will be my future dreams.
Such is my whole story.
Such were his dreams as a boy.
2.表语置于句首
Blessed isthe person who is too busy to worry in the daytime and too sleepy to worry at night.
Every one of us has in him a continent of undiscovered character. Blessed ishe who acts the Columbus to his own soul.
每个人都有未经发现的品性，能够像哥伦布那样探索自己灵魂的新大陆的人，是有福气的。
显然，表语置于句首时句子全部倒装是为了避免整个句子出现头重脚轻的问题，同时还突出强调了句子的表语部分。因此，当我们遇到类似的表达时，我们也可以尝试用全部倒装的方法来使得句子更加地道，语气更加强烈。
