带织物的汽车内饰件的注射模塑大量的汽车内饰件是用普通方法注塑成型的。采用Pgam公司开发的模内层压新工艺来制作汽车内饰件，可以同时进行“将织物覆盖在制件上”的工序，大大提高了生产效率。 据Pgam先进技术公司位于北美的运营公司(位于密歇根州的奥本山)介绍，该公司开发的工控系统正在被大众公司用于其高尔夫车型内饰件的注射模塑，并且所制作的汽车内饰件的外表非常漂亮。 Pgam公司的创新主要体现在他们采用了模内层压工艺，即将A、B、C柱的装饰部件直接注射模塑到织物的背面，省去了二次加工过程。这种新的工艺是在1986年的德国K展上首次出现的，最初被称作“低压加工”，之后很快被推广到美国。 一般来说，柱子上装饰部件的生产是通过机械与人力共同来完成的，而且还要使用粘合剂。其过程是：首先要对塑料部件进行模制成型，然后工人再将织物覆盖在从注塑机上取下的模制件上，最后用粘合剂将基材与织物粘结起来。这个过程需要进行两个步骤的操作——先模塑，再覆盖/涂胶/修剪，而且还要使用有毒溶剂。 现在，Pgam公司将其开发的模内层压工艺与Demag公司(位于俄亥俄州斯特朗斯维尔)提供的卧式注塑机和自动化供应商Wittmann公司(位于康涅狄格州的托灵顿)提供的机器人组合起来，形成了一种高效率的工控系统，使得内饰件的整个模制过程完全实现了自动化。 首先，将已经切成所需尺寸（留有一点边，以满足模塑后修整的需要）的织物坯料片堆成撂，机器人移动到成撂坯料上方，由空气驱动刺针从臂端向前穿透0.125in(1in=25.4mm)，以提起纺织品，并将其移入模具区；然后，把织物覆盖到模具内的固定销针上，进行织物覆盖后再移出模具之外；最后，进行模制，并将制成品放在输出传送带上，利用超声波、激光修边以及水喷射切割装置进行最终的装饰。 在上述工艺流程中，一个非常关键的过程就是要做到精密控制，不管是对于织物运送处理的控制，还是在注塑过程中对机械和材料的控制，都要求做到精密。还需要指出的是，在注塑中，并不是一次性地把材料注入模腔，而是利用控制器来控制材料的充模过程。 到目前为止，Pgam公司利用Demag公司的卧式注塑机，采用模内层压工艺的成型方法，已生产了种部件。Demag的Ergotech注塑机具有被称为“NC4”的控制系统，在所用的层叠注射工艺中，能够控制48个不同的区域。此外，该设备的拉杆之间距离较大，这一设计对于内饰件的模制工艺流程是非常重要的，因为模具的尺寸和质量都相对较大。Pgam公司所使用的注塑机的型号为3500/1250，即锁模力达3500KN，两个拉杆之间的距离是1250mm。
