大甲溪梯级水电站台湾省水能资源最丰富又得到充分开发的梯级水电站。位于台湾中西部。大甲溪发源于中央山脉,向西注入南海,全长124km,平均坡降1:60。流域面积1272km2,年雨量1500~2500mm之间。流域地形可分成三区:上游段开扩平坦,森林茂密;中游段多山,河道狭窄,对水电开发十分有利;下游段为大片平原和台中市等工业城市,需要灌溉和供水。自20世纪50年代初开始,得到重点开发,到70年代末,全溪流已建成4座梯级水电站和1座供工农业用水的水库(见图),其主要特性指标见表。 梯级中各电站总装机容量达87.4kW。大甲溪的开发,不仅为地区工农业提供了大量电力,还为防洪和农田灌溉、城市供水等发挥了重大作用。
