燃气输配管线输送并分配燃气的管道及其附属构筑物。只起输气作用的管线称输气管线，例如长距离输气管线、城市周围的高压输气管线等，市区内也可有某些管线只起输气作用。只起分配燃气作用的管线称配气管线，在此管线上接出用户引入管，向用户分配燃气。燃气输配管线常用的管道有钢管、铸铁管、塑料管等。①长距离输气管线和其他高压管线使用钢管。由于钢管在土壤中易受到腐蚀,故外壁采用绝缘防腐层,并根据具体情况辅以电保护法。内壁防腐应根据燃气中杂质成分及含量，选择涂层及厚度。②铸铁管具有良好的抗腐蚀性能,多用于城市中低压管网。目前,已采用强度高、延性好的球墨铸铁管取代普通灰口铸铁管。普通铸铁管多采用承插式连接，有刚性接口和柔性接口两种。球墨铸铁管都采用机械接口形式。③塑料管使用较多的是聚乙烯管和聚氯乙烯管。聚乙烯管多用热熔连接法，聚氯乙烯管多用承插式粘接。塑料管有质轻、耐腐蚀、摩阻系数小、施工简便等优点，在中低压燃气管线上普遍使用。输气管道应尽可能避免穿越森林、河流、丘陵等地形复杂的地段和沼泽、盐碱地带，应避开高压输电线路，尽量靠近现有公路，以便少占农田，方便施工和维护管理。管线距工厂企业、居民区、建筑物和构筑物应有一定的安全距离。城市内燃气输配管线应尽可能避免敷设在交通频繁的道路下，便于保证不间断供气和管理。选线时应考虑以下因素：燃气压力，用户分布情况，地上障碍物和地下管道及构筑物情况，街道交通量及路面结构，地形和地质情况，城市近期、远期规划等。为了运行管理、检修、安装等的需要，在燃气管道的适当位置上安装阀门、补偿器（伸缩节）和放散管等附件。当输送湿燃气时，要在最低点设置排水器。燃气管道穿越公路、铁路等障碍物时，可将燃气管道敷设在套管内。穿越河流时应根据具体条件采取水下穿越或架空跨越。架空跨越时，可以随桥架设，也可以单独设立管道桥（见架空管道）。燃气管线投入运行前，必须按照有关规定进行气密性试验、强度试验，并进行吹扫；要备有完整的竣工图纸和技术档案资料；要建立管线维护管理制度和紧急抢修机构,确保安全运行。管线投入运行后,要定期清除管内污物，定期检查漏气，经常巡视管线沿途的地形、环境变化，并及时作好处理。
