分散系统的状态估计对分散系统中受噪声干扰的状态量在一定的统计意义下作出最优估计的信息处理技术，简称分散状态估计或分散卡尔曼滤波。对含有随机扰动和测量噪声的分散系统进行控制,要解决两个问题：一是状态估计,一是最优控制。对于这类系统用集中的方法进行状态估计和最优控制是有困难的。通常是把大系统分解为若干子系统用分散的方法解决。这就出现了分散状态估计问题。在有些要求进行状态估计的应用场合，用整体卡尔曼滤波时要求的计算量过大，集中信息有实际困难，可以人为地将问题转换为分散滤波来解决。受噪声干扰的状态量是个随机量，不可能测得精确值，但可对它进行一系列观测，并依据一组观测值，按某种统计观点对它进行估计。使估计值尽可能准确地接近真实值，这就是最优估计。真实值与估计值之差称为估计误差。若估计值的数学期望与真实值相等，这种估计称为无偏估计。估计值的方差越小，表示估计值取其数学期望的概率越大。因此，分散系统状态估计问题就是：设计一个分散滤波器，它由若干个局部滤波器组成，每一局部滤波器均有自已的输入，要求确定各局部滤波器的输出，使某种整体的性能指标为最小（见图）。图中局部滤波器的输入y包括系统模型数据和在线测量数据。局部滤波器的输出 憫即为状态估计，它是无偏估计。x为状态量，u为从其他子系统来的耦合量。图为两个子系统的情况。通常，人们常用估计误差的方差作为整体的性能指标。所选用的滤波器的信息结构不同就构成不同的滤波器。信息结构是完全集中模式时,对应的滤波器称为整体卡尔曼滤波器。这时没有信息流的约束，可利用系统模型和在线信息的全部数据，因而滤波性能最好。性能指标值记为JG。但除非确能实现集中模式，否则它只能作为与其他型式滤波器进行比较的标准。当信息结构是完全分散时,对应的滤波器称为确实局部无偏滤波器。这时只采用描述本子系统模型的信息和在线信息，各局部滤波器之间没有信息交换。这种滤波器的结构简单，要求的信息量最少。但滤波性能因缺少整体信息而下降。性能指标值记为JSLU。当局部滤波器可使用整体系统模型信息但只能用本局部滤波器在线信息时，对应的滤波器称为局部化整体动态滤波器。这种滤波器因使用整体模型信息，性能较好，但滤波器复杂，不易实现，而且需要有一个大容量的数据库，用以存储整体系统模型的数据。性能指标记为JLGD。一种较可取的信息结构是允许局部滤波器之间有部分信息交换(图中用s表示),即在确实局部无偏滤波器的基础上扩充各局部滤波器占有的信息，互相交换彼此的输入和输出值。对应的滤波器称为扩充确实局部无偏滤波器。这样既能基本上保持确实局部无偏滤波器的结构简单,又能适当改善滤波性能。性能指标记为JESLU。比较上面四种滤波器的性能可得JG≤JLGD≤JSLU，JG≤JESLU≤JSLU。至于选择JLGD还是JESLU，则取决于系统的特点和扩充时提出的特定要求。计算最优分散滤波器如不用简化模型是很困难的，因为这时会产生二次推测现象(见大系统分散控制理论)。求解方法通常与标准卡尔曼-布什滤波方法相似。先根据所选的信息结构简化模型，写出并求解卡尔曼滤波方程，再通过解矩阵黎卡提方程而求得滤波增益表示式中的估计误差协方差矩阵。但这样得到的结果是次优的。还有一种颇有吸引力的整体滤波器的分散算法，它使用一种递阶结构。在线性高斯情况下，利用整体滤波器的递推性质和正交投影的方法，对低阶子系统依次逐个地进行正交化计算。利用这样的逐次正交化程序，可节省大量的计算量。系统维数越高作用越显著。参考书目M.G.辛格著，李敉安、邝硕等译，陈珽校：《大系统的动态递阶控制》，科学出版社，北京，1983。（M.G.Singh， Dynamical Hierarchical Control， North-Holland Publ.Co., Amsterdam, 1980.）
