最简单的，自动下载style: 打开endnote----edit----output styles----open style maneger----在新打开的界面中点击中部的get more on the web, 此时自动连接endnote官网，在网页中部的搜索窗口输入目标杂志名称，点击search，然后在弹出的results found下方点击搜索结果后方的download, 下载文件，之后按endnote界面提示一步一步做就好：InstallingIndividual Styles
1Download the style you want to install.
2Double-click the style file. It should open in EndNote.
3In EndNote, go to “File Menu” and choose “Save As”. Replace the word “copy” with your style’s name and click “Save”.
4Click on “File Menu” and choose “Close Style”.
以下是手动修改，很麻烦：
一，先看目标期刊格式
以Epilepsia为例，其期刊引文格式举例(首行为正文中的引文，后两行为文末的参考文献格式)：

所用为a modified Vancouverstyle format(见Epilepsia的INSTRUCTIONS for AUTHORS)
二，进行修改
因此在endnote中以Vancouver为模板进行修改，步骤如下：
1打开endnote----edit----outstyle----open style maneger, 点击进入编辑界面，找到Vancouver，前面小框内勾选，关闭style maneger界面；
2再次在主界面edit----outstyle, 此时下栏可见出现Vancouver项，勾选， 界面自动关闭；
3再次在主界面edit----outstyle, 此时上半栏内可见edit”Vancourver”项，点击进入，按照Epilepsia的格式修改；
未修改前格式如下(分别为正文中的引文及文末的参考文献格式)：

(注意word中插入的style是需要选择的，并不会endnote选择哪种就插入哪种。)
进行修改：
正文中引文：去掉(bibliography number)的括号，将bibliography number选中，选择格式中的A1，将之以上标形式显示
文末参考文献：在bibliography----author lists，将作者显示改为3个，大于3个者以et al省略；
杂志名改为简写，于journal names中右侧选择abbreviation 2，经测试，此简写与epilepsia同；另，epilepsia要求杂志名为斜体，打开bibliography---templates，于右侧reference types栏下找到journal article下的模板，选择journal，直接修改字体为斜体，保存。
看一下，现在的格式：
