生活与美学【《生活与美学》】 俄国革命民主主义者哲学家、美学家车尔尼雪夫斯基著，又译《艺术和现实的审美关系》，是其1853年写成的硕士学位论文，1855年初版。在1888年第三版序言中作者指出，该书的实质是“证明艺术作品决不能和活生生的现实相提并论”。在书中作者坚持批判黑格尔派客观唯心主义美学观，直接继承、发展了别林斯基的现实主义美学观，并提出自己的美学观点：（一）提出“美是生活”的著名定义。认为“任何东西，凡是显示出生活或使我们想起生活的，那就是美”；（二）在艺术与现实的关系上，充分肯定现实高于艺术，现实美高于艺术美。认为艺术是现实的“抄本”，现实的“代替品”，艺术仅仅作为现实的代替品才获得存在的价值，即提出“代替说”；（三）认为文艺是“生活的教科书”，并有三大社会作用：再现生活、说明生活、判断生活；（四）论及崇高和悲剧。认为“一件事物较之与它相比的一切事物要巨大得多，那便是崇高”。指出悲剧是人的难关或死亡，是人生中可怕的事物，并认为生活与艺术中的悲剧事件由一定的客观条件决定，是社会现象的产物。并反对轻视喜剧，充分肯定喜剧对现实讽刺与鞭挞的社会作用；（五）认为艺术的内容只是自然和生活中一切能使人发生兴趣的事物，批判了“纯艺术论”的虚伪实质。在典型问题上，认为作家必须捕捉人物性格的特征，使人物具有鲜明生动的个性，不能用自然主义方式和抽象的概念创造典型，认为艺术创造的典型可直接从现实生活移入，不需要集中、概括和理想化。认为现实生活的美是客观的美、本质的美、内容的美，艺术与现实的区别不在内容，只在形式，形式的完美在于理念与形式的一致。该书是美学史上第一部试图用唯物主义观点撰写的美学著作，对俄国和我国的美学思想的发展影响甚大。
