泉州泉州QuanzhouQuanzhou泉州(Q uanzhou)中国福建省港口城帝，历史文化名城·位于省境东南沿海泉塑湾西侧，晋江下游北岸，东北距福州291二卜米，西南距厦门156千米。辖鲤城区和惠安、永春、安溪、德化、金门5县。面积8 180平方千米，人口346刀8万，其中市区面积530平方千米，人口50.95万(1993)。中国著名侨乡。秦属闽中郡。晋属晋安郡。唐景云二年(711)改武荣州为泉州，州治在南安县丰州，开元六年(718)州治迁于今泉州，l-/又年建城廓，成为中国四大通商港日之一。五代时环城盛种刺桐树，故别称刺桐城。北宋元佑二年(1087)，设管理外贸外舶的机构“市舶司”，成为中国古代“海上丝绸之路”的起点。元代，泉州港与埃及亚历山大港并列为“肚界最大港口”。明置泉州府，城垣易砖为石，城形似鲤鱼，故亦称鲤城。明、清实行海禁，航道不断淤积，泉州港逐渐衰落。1951年设市。1971年开始建设后诸港。1983年对外开放。泉州依山面海，西北部为山地，东南部为海积冲积平原和滨海台地，隔海峡与台湾岛相望。属亚热带海洋性气候，年平均气温20.7℃，年平均降水量12能毫米，潮汐为正规半日潮。泉州港分内港和外港两部分。内港位于晋江内，可靠泊小型船只。外港(后诸港)是主要港区，位于洛阳江出口处，有3 000吨级和500吨级码头。后诸对岸的秀涂为一沙质自然岸滩，为出l:I盐类货物的起驳口岸。泉州港有泊位41个。1993年吞吐量126万吨。工业有食品、化工、机械、电子、纺织等。是福建省花生、一甘蔗、龙眼和海盐的主要产区。矿物蕴藏有煤、铁矿石、高岭土等。泉州处于福州一厦门公路和泉州一永安公路的交叉点，其他公路支线密布，是福建省公路交通运输的枢纽之一。民航有通往福州和广州等地的航班。(翟云禄)
