旅美派文学由旅居美洲的阿拉伯、主要是黎巴嫩和叙利亚作家所组成的现代阿拉伯文学流派。又称“阿拉伯侨民文学”。由于黎巴嫩在历史上曾作为叙利亚的组成部分，所以也有"叙美派文学"之称。19世纪70年代以后,由于奥斯曼帝国的残暴统治,黎巴嫩、叙利亚人大量移居美洲，散居各主要口岸。他们创办了报纸、杂志。1893年第一份阿拉伯文报纸《费哈报》在巴西出版,此后报刊总数达200种以上。旅美派文学就是在这一基础上产生的。在北美，19在纽约成立了文学团体“笔会”。在南美，旅美派文学主要活动地点是巴西和阿根廷。1933年在巴西圣保罗城成立"安达卢西亚协会"，是继"笔会"之后的第二个侨民文学团体。协会成员有著名作家拉希德·塞利姆·胡里（1887～），他著有《拉希德诗集》。在阿根廷的旅美派文学团体名为"文学家协会"，于1949年成立，其核心成员有诗人乔治·绥达哈(1893～)、小说家尤素福·萨里米和评论家阿卜杜·拉蒂夫·海欣（1904～）。萨里米主编《才华杂志》，海欣著有《圣战者的团结纽带》，并主编《阿拉伯知识》周刊。旅美派作家一方面歌唱自由，描写阿拉伯人在新大陆的追求和奋斗，表现了对个性解放的渴望；另一方面，他们抒发对祖国的热爱和对故乡的思念，表现了强烈的民族感情。他们对于阿拉伯国家落后的现状感到不满，号召人民反对外国统治者，为推动社会进步而斗争。纪伯伦的散文诗集《先知》、努埃曼的小说集《往事》、艾敏·雷哈尼的诗集《雷哈尼亚特》、拉希德·胡里的诗集《风暴》等都是这个时期的产物。1948年以后，旅美派作家创作了不少谴责犹太复国主义的作品。在文学形式方面，纪伯伦、艾敏·雷哈尼等人冲破阿拉伯古典诗歌韵律的束缚，写作散文诗。旅美派文学在它产生并兴盛的20、30年代，由于阿拉伯本土的文学受到环境限制，发展滞缓，因而它对促进阿拉伯民族解放和社会改革运动以及本土文学的繁荣和发展都产生了很大的影响。它在国际上也受到广泛重视，纪伯伦的著作曾被译成54种文字出版。参考书目绥达哈：《我们的文学和文学家在美洲》，贝鲁特，1957。盖苏里：《侨民文学》。拉希德·胡里：《美洲侨民文学的出现和发展》。
