切屑的卷曲形式与断屑方法在金属切削加工中,不利的屑形将严重影响操作安全、加工质量、刀具寿命、机床精度和生产率。因此有必要对切屑的卷曲形式和断屑方法进行深入研究,以便对切屑形态进行有效控制。 1.切屑卷曲形式在塑性金属切削加工过程中,由于切屑向上卷曲和横向卷曲的程度不同,所产生的切屑形态也各不相同。为了便于分析切屑卷曲的形式,可将切屑分为向上卷曲型、复合卷曲型和横向卷曲型三大类。在脆性金属切削加工中,容易产生粒状切屑和针状切屑,只有在高速切削、刀具前角较大、切削厚度较小时,此类切屑的卷曲方向才与一般情况下略有差异。 在切削塑性金属时,如刀具刃倾角为0°,有卷屑槽且切削宽度较大,切屑大多向上卷曲。在其它情况下,切屑大都为横向卷曲。例如,在外圆车削加工中,当进给量与背吃刀量之比较大,且刀具的前角为0°时,切屑容易横向卷曲成垫圈状(见图1)。这是因为切屑两端部分在横向上变宽,而切屑的体积不变,横向变宽部分的厚度必然变薄,若长度不缩短,就必然产生横向卷曲;另外,若在车刀上磨有过渡刃,加上刀尖和副切削刃的作用,使得在切屑宽度方向上剪切角发生变化,也可使切屑产生横向弯曲而呈垫圈状。 在通常情况下,切屑不可能仅仅向上卷曲或横向卷曲,而是在向上卷曲的同时也产生横向卷曲。长紧卷屑和螺状卷屑的形成就是切屑同时向上和横向卷曲的结果(如图2)。 2.断屑方法 在塑性金属切削中,直带状切屑和缠绕形切屑是不受欢迎的;而在脆性金属切削中,又希望得到连续型切屑。通常,改变切削用量或刀具几何参数都能控制屑形。在切削用量已定的条件下加工塑性金属时,大都采用设置断屑台和卷屑槽来控制屑形。本文主要讨论卷屑槽基本参数的计算。 图3是直线型、直线圆弧型和圆弧型三种卷屑槽的基本形式。其主要参数如下: (1)接触长度L 图3中,切屑在前刀面上的接触长度可由下式获得 L=Kmachsin(φ+β-γo)/sinφcosβ(1)式中Km——切屑与前刀面接触长度修正系数,一般取1.6左右ach——切屑厚度(2)卷屑槽半径R2由断裂理论可知,塑性金属的断屑条件是εf≥εfc(2)式中εf——切屑卷曲应变εfc——临界断裂应变对于向上卷曲型切屑,其折断条件如图4所示。假设在切屑外表面拉长ΔL后达到断裂极限,由几何关系得ΔL=(R1+y)dθ-R1dθ(3)
